Do you know Fawad Khan “Almost” took one of Saif Ali Khan’s Movie?
Fawad Khan has truly proved himself in Bollywood by playing challenging roles in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Kapoor and Sons. According to reports, Fawad lost many lead roles in Bollywood due to ban on Pakistani actors in India. Rumors also say that team Padmavati approached Fawad Khan to play role that Shahid Kapoor did. However most of us do not know that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie was not the only project for which Hamsafar’s Fawad was considered.
Saif Ali Khan is starring in Kaalakandi which is expected to release in January 2018. However, Saif was about to lose the movie if he would not have responded that efficiently.
In an interview, Akshat said, “Fawad was supposed to be one of the actors we talked to when the project was with UTV,’ he added, “It was around 2013… Fawad was going to play the role Saif plays. But ultimately everything happens for a reason and for the best. No one could have done the role better than Saif,”
He further said, “When I first messaged Saif, I didn’t get a reply. When I finally met him, it was almost two years to the date I had texted him, and I still have the message saved. This time, he had read the script because Ashi (Dua, one of the producers) had sent it to him. He said, ‘Ok we are on’ in five minutes. So the time period was, on one hand two years and on the other, just five minutes to get Saif,”
Also there were rumors that Fawad was considered to be a lead cast in next venture of Dharma Productions with Bollywood beauty queen Katrina Kaif. But rumors rested when Karan signed Salman Khan on Fawad’s place.
It was reported in DNA India, “KJo wants to produce a film with Salman and Katrina in the lead as he finds their chemistry sizzling. Earlier, the same film was to star Pakistani actor Fawad Khan along with Katrina, but with the ban on Pakistani actors during Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, that is not happening,”
Further it said, “Hence, the film-maker was keen to rope in Salman. The script is being reworked for Dabangg Khan, to make the character more suitable to him. The pre-production work on the film has begun.”
