Pakistan RECORD lowest Total against Kiwis

New Zealand have taken an impregnable 3-0 lead in their five-game series with Pakistan. In the third ODI is  Dunedin, they defeated Pakistan by 183 runs.

New Zealand made 257 of 50 overs. Thus the Black Caps skimmed Pakistan for only 74. It was Pakistan’s third lowest total in ODI and the ‘worst’ game against New Zealand.

Sarfraz Ahmed’s team only managed 27.2 overs as Trent Boult (5-17) was I full form.

The Kiwis Captain Kane Williamson made score of 73 and expert Ross Taylor did 52. Collectively both provided a solid base to the rest of team.

Even though New Zealand lost 7-48 to close their tickets, the total seemed remarkable considering the  Dunedin wicket.

And so it turned out, since Pakistan went on to register its lowest ODI total in 25 years.

Azhar Ali was dismissed on second ball on the final ball of second over by Boult, and the left armer took the next two wickets thus leaving Pakistanis with 3-2 in fourth over of innings.

Before this match, it was 6-16 and the lowest total ever seen, the Zimbabwean 35 against Sri Lanka in 2004, suddenly seemed threatened.

It was then dependent on Sarfraz and Mohammad Amir to stay away from that embarrassment, as well the lowest total of 43 by Pakistan.

They did it, and Rumman Raees made 16, but the result was predictable, New Zealand rushed to dominate a team which was the winner of ICC Champions Trophy just seven months ago.
