Hijab Wearing Barbie inspired by Ibithaj Muhammad. According to Shape magazine She was the first Muslim American woman to break the boundaries and participate in Olympics wearing a hijab. She also brought a bronze medal in Rio Games 2016 to her name. The Muslim American fencer had to face a lot of criticism when she commented while talking to Daily beast that she “doesn’t feel safe as a Muslim woman in the U.S.”

Recently the manufacturers of the ‘Barbie doll’ have disclosed that they are about to reveal “a Barbie wearing hijab” inspired by ibtihaj Muhammad who also works at the U.S state Department for Empowering Women and Girls through Sports Initiative.

Miss Muhammad says that she feels really proud that young generation will be able to play with a Barbie who chooses to wear Hijab.
People will be able to buy the hijabi doll online in next autumn. It’s a part of the Barbie campaign called ‘Shero’ which works for empowering and honoring woman breaking the boundaries.
