“Help Me, I am Innocent”- Aafia Siddiqui Pens a Heartfelt Letter to Imran Khan
Even after apparent failures, we still have so much hopes from Imran Khan. If we, common people enjoying peace at home have hopes from Imran Khan, then Aafia Siddiqui is truly justified if she is seeing IK as light to show her freedom.
Recently Aafia has written a heartfelt letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
“I want to get out of prison, my imprisonment in the US is illegal as I was kidnapped and taken to the US, Imran Khan had supported me in the past also. I have always considered him as one of my biggest heroes and wish to see him as the Khalifa of all Muslims. He should be careful of the munafiq around him,” she said.
She further said, “All those who criticise Imran Khan for his past mistakes should stop doing that because under Islamic law he is innocent. Even the Sahaba with the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had made mistakes in their lives and when they embraced Islam their past mistakes were forgiven and they became innocent. It is the same with Imran Khan. He had once stated himself that he came to learn about Islam much later in his life. If anyone has doubts on this, I can debate about this.”
On 9th October this year, Pakistan Counsel General in Houston Aisha Farooqui visited Aafia. She requested her to convey her message to Imran Khan.
The Pakistani scientist Aafia Siddiqui was put behind the bars in 2010 in attempted murder charges at US military personnel. She was sentenced 86 years of imprisonment in Texas at Federal Medical Centre, Carswell, Fort Worth.
It is also reported that Aafia has been subjected to physical and sexual assault, which is truly unlawful.
In June this year CJP Saqib Nisar heard a petition filed by Aafia’s sister, Dr Fauzia Siddiqui.
I am seeing hope in Aafia’s words. She has expectations from Imran Khan that he will be the source of her freedom. As per my knowledge, Imran Khan was the one who highlighted this whole issue of Aafia Siddiqui abduction. I wish and pray Allah that Imran Khan comes up to her expectations, and may Aafia sees the bright sunshine with family again.
