Dr Aafia is Alive: Counsel General From Pakistan Visits Aafia Siddiqui in Texas Prison
Aisha Farooqui, Pakistan counsel general in Houston visited Dr Aafia Siddiqui in Texas prison and denied death rumors circulating in social media about the imprisoned Pakistani scientist.
Meeting between Aisha Farooqui and Dr Aafia was carried out at the Carswell detention facility in Fort Worth, Texas. This was the fourth meeting in last 14 months and its duration was 2 hours.
Previously circulating reports in social media have claimed that Aafia Siddiqui died in US captivity.
Rejecting all the rumors Farooqui said the reports that rallied in the social media were unfounded.
Aafia Siddiqui was directed in New York by the federal district court in 2008 for alleged murder and assault on an accusation against US officials in Ghazni during Siddiqui’s denial charges.
After being held for 18 months, she was tried and convicted at the beginning of 2010 and sentenced to 86 years in prison.
Aafia’s sister, who responds to the rumors about death, Fauzia said earlier this week that the Pakistani government, the State Department, or the US prison authorities had not said anything about it.
Fauzia added that they have no contact with her sister for the last two years and added that despite numerous attempts, they have not found an answer to the questions from Pakistani or US officials.
May Allah create ease for this daughter of nation.
