Bill Gates Thanked Sheikh Mohammed in a Special Way

The humanitarian Bill Gates announced the finalists in Varkey Foundation’s $1million Global Teacher Prize in an adorable video.

The 10 finalists were selected from almost 30,000 applicants internationally from 173 countries.  Along with other countries, there were US, UK, Brazil, Norway, Australia, Colombia, Turkey, South Africa and Belgium.

Bill Gates thanked Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai while he announced the names of top 10 finalists. He said, “For his patronage of the prize, thank you to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai,”

Bill Gates gave special emphasis on the role of education in any society in these words, “Education is like a master switch, one that opens up all sorts of opportunities for individuals and societies. Research shows that having a great teacher can determine whether students get a great education.”
